Duplex Steel Buttweld Fitting ASTM A815 S32205 Concentric Reducer
Duplex stainless steel A815 UNS S32205 is an extremely corrosion resistant, work hardenable alloy. Its microstructure consists of a mixture of austenite and ferrite phases. Therefore, duplex stainless steels combine the properties of both austenitic and ferritic stainless steels.
Duplex Steel S32205 welded pipe fittings will last longer even when exposed to harsh environmental conditions such as salt water or high pressure/temperature as their strength levels are higher than other materials such as carbon steel or aluminum alloys. The addition of molybdenum provides excellent protection against corrosive elements such as salt water or acidic media that can damage other materials over time.
UNS S32205 and UNS S31803 are both duplex stainless steel grades, but there are some differences between them. UNS S32205 has a higher nitrogen content and slightly higher chromium and molybdenum contents, which improves corrosion resistance and strength compared to UNS S31803. UNS S32205 has a higher minimum yield strength and is generally considered to be more resistant to stress corrosion cracking.

Applications:
Due to its excellent corrosion resistance, Duplex UNS S32205 butt weld fittings can be used in a variety of industries and applications where other materials may not be suitable. These include petrochemical plants, seawater systems, oil and gas production platforms, desalination plants, chemical processing units, pharmaceutical plants, etc. It is also widely used in pipelines that transport sour gas or crude oil because of its excellent resistance to sour gas corrosion. In addition, these fittings can be used in pressure vessel components that require high strength and durability, such as pumps and valves.
